SmartInsider Consulting was founded in 1994 and offers research services based on thorough analysis of U.S Form 4 insider trading data, insider trading from Europe, and Canada. It is designed exclusively for institutional portfolio managers and analysts. Directors and executive officers, as a group, have the most current and in depth knowledge of their company's operations. SmartInsider believes that by careful and thoughtful analysis of their trading activity, they can help find inflection points in stock prices based on unusual and significant insider activity. SmartInsider's analyst team provides a qualitative approach to analyzing this activity, using their combined 90+ years of experience to examine all trades reported. SmartInsider provides their services through two products – one focused on North American corporations and the other focused on European corporations.

Mike Benenson - President

Mike has over 30 years of Wall Street experience. For the last 10 years he was a COO, Partner and Director of Marketing for 3 Global Hedge Funds. Prior to this from 1995-2004, Mike was an Executive Managing Director for BMO Capital (a division of Bank of Montreal) and its acquired firm Gerard Klauer Mattison, where he managed U.S. Equity Sales and Sales Trading. From 1984-1995 he was a Sr. Vice President of Lazard Freres & Co. Mike graduated from Dartmouth College in 1984.

William Lattimer - Insider Analyst

William acquired SmartInsider Consulting from Mr. Muzea in 1999. Prior to this, William was a buy-side analyst at Soros Funds Management from 1995-1999, as well as a partner, analyst and portfolio manager at Osprey Funds Management (Alex, Brown & Sons affiliate) from 1991-1994. William worked as a sell-side analyst at Lazard Freres & Co. from 1983-1990. William graduated from Dickinson College, PA in 1983, with a B.A. 

George Muzea - Insider Analyst

George is the founder of SmartInsider Consulting, an Insider Analyst, and heads the macro research. He founded the firm in 1994. Prior to this, he was Director of Research at CDA Investnet Technologies, doing research primarily on insider data, from 1988-1993. Prior to that, George worked as a stockbroker for various brokerage firms including EF Hutton, Oppenheimer, and Drexel Burnham. During that time, he hosted his own televised weekly program, "The Muzea Insider Report" and he made frequent guest appearances on the Nightly Business Report, CNBC, and Bloomberg. George has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and received an MBA from New York University in 1969. 

Rich Dann - Insider Analyst

Rich has been working with insider data since 1987. Before joining SmartInsider in April 2004, Rich was part of The Washington Service (formerly part of Legg Mason Inc.) for 17 years. Rich received a B.S. in Information Systems Management from Buffalo State College in 1987 and M.S. in Finance from Johns Hopkins University in 1995.
